“Our job has been to visit farms in the Mooi River, Mpofane and Middelrus areas in KwaZulu Natal. There are 57 farms in the area – and we were divided into teams to service 19 farms each. Our job was to conduct an economic assessment so as to ensure these farms are productive. We have also assisted with taking blood samples of poultry in these rural areas so that we can ensure disease control.” Yash Jayram.

Over 60 Water GEP graduates have visited (and are currently visiting} schools within their communities nationally to introduce and encourage learners to take up careers in science, engineering and technology. These graduates also spend time with learners explaining the importance of water, a scarce resource and how to manage the environment so that it is sustainable into the future.
“I have been explaining to my students that a career in water offers the opportunity to deliver, clean, and renew our world’s most essential resource. Water and resource recovery careers pay competitive wages that will help to sustain our families.” Rocky Hiburi, Ikusasa high school and Reitumetse High School, Thembisa, Gauteng.
